J Lassalle Blanc De Blancs 2009 France 94PTS Wine Advocate
This powerhouse is shy on the bouquet but explodes on the palate. Still young, evoking ripe apple, fig, baking bread and citrus, all on a medium-bodied, electric framework. Plenty of life ahead.

Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay
Flavors: Fig, Baked Bread, Citrus
Ideal Temperature: 40F
Food Pairing: Hors d'oeuvres, Caviar, On its own
Alcohol: 12%

Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes 2016 France 97PTS Wine Enthusiast
A very concentrated Sauternes with a cornucopia of dried papaya, pineapple and mango, plus candied orange and tropical flowers that bowl you over. Although it stays in the background, there's great acidity in this wine that keeps it very straight and clean, in spite of the luscious extravagance. Bright, citrusy finish.

Grape Variety: 80% Semillon 20% Sauvignon Blanc
Flavors: Papaya, Pineapple, Mango Candied Orange
Ideal Temperature: 50F
Food Pairing: Blue Cheese, Fruit Tarte, Fois Gras
Alcohol: 13%

Philippe Colin Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Vergers 2017 France 93PTS Robert Parker

This is the first wine to display any appreciable amount of wood and even here it's quite subtle as it easily allows the aromas of lychee nut, matchstick and petrol to shine. The slightly sleeker though still markedly rich medium-bodied flavors possess a highly attractive mouth feel and particularly so on the lingering finish. This is an interesting combination of refinement with focused power that should also drink well young if that's your preference.

Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay
Flavors: Lychee, Petrol, Powerful
Ideal Temperature: 45F
Food Pairing: Crab, Halibut, Trout
Alcohol: 14%

Domaine Joseph Voillot Volnay 1er Cru Les Fremiets 2016 94PTS Tim Atkin

The 2016 Volnay 1er Cru les Fremiets, reduced to seven barrels this year (40% one- or two-year-old oak), offers attractive, pure, raspberry and crushed strawberry scents on the nose, floral scents (rose petals) sneaking out from under the coves with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, lithe tannin. I adore the harmony and precision of this Fremiets, not a powerful or flamboyant Volnay, but just Pinot Noir shimmering on the tongue. This comes highly recommended for those that appreciate classic Volnay.

Grape Variety:
100% Pinot Noir
Flavors: Raspberry, Strawberry, Floral
Ideal Temperature: 55F
Food Pairing: Duck, Pork Loin, Lamb
Alcohol: 13%

Chateau Giscours Margaux 2016 France 96PTS James Suckling
This has attractive, glossy, ripe red-plum and licorice aromas with cedar, flowers and red berries, as well as a stony edge. A very fragrant, cabernet-driven nose. The palate has elegance and grace with sleek and charming, balanced style and a discreet tannin structure that holds the finish long and fresh.

Grape Variety:
81% Cabernet Sauvignon 19% Merlot
Flavors: Cedar, Florar, Fragrant
Ideal Temperature: 60F
Food Pairing: Grilled Meats, Stew
Alcohol: 14%

Clos St. Jean La Combe Des Fous Chateauneuf Du Pape 2017 France 97PTS Jeb Dunnuck
The 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Combe Des Fous checks in as a normal blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and the rest Vaccarèse and Cinsault, raised in tank and demi-muids. Kirsch liqueur, white flowers, graphite, ground pepper, and obvious minerality all emerge from this ethereal yet powerful, concentrated 2017. It's very much in the more Provençal, elegant style of this vintage, yet has classic Clos Saint Jean purity, style, and power. It's a gorgeous wine.

Grape Variety:
70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 5% Vaccarese, 5% Cinsault
Flavors: Kirsch, White Flowers, Graphite, Ground Pepper
Ideal Temperature: 60F
Food Pairing: Game, Wild Boar, Slightly Spicier Meats
Alcohol: 15%
